Mediavision Et Jean Mineur

Mediavision Et Jean Mineur

Mediavision, formally Mediavision et Jean Mineur, is France's leading cinema advertising company, selling on-screen advertising space on behalf of cinema operators. Formed in 1971 through the merger of a business founded by advertising pioneer Jean Mineur with competitor Publicine, the company today commercializes advertising across roughly 3,630 screens in 534 cinema complexes, working with more than 150 exhibition partners. It guarantees advertisers around 2.6 million weekly cinema admissions and holds a dominant position in the French market, claiming an 83 percent share of the advertising-carrying cinema estate, with particular strength in major urban centers and the Ile-de-France region.

The company also serves as the sole cinema advertising agency in the Netherlands. Mediavision offers advertisers national campaigns, geographically targeted promotions, and special in-theater events, connecting brands with captive audiences during the pre-film advertising break. Its ownership combines BDC, which holds a controlling stake, with the Jean Mineur group and Publicis Groupe.

The company is headquartered in Issy-les-Moulineaux, in the Paris suburbs. Mediavision is closely associated with the iconic Petit Mineur mascot, a small miner who strikes a pickaxe at a target, a long-running symbol of cinema advertising in France, and it created the Mineurs d'Or awards recognizing the best cinema advertisements as chosen by audiences. As a place-based out-of-home media owner focused specifically on the cinema environment, Mediavision gives advertisers access to engaged, attentive moviegoing audiences across a broad national network of theaters.
